Representative Matters & Outcomes
The following matters are illustrative of the types of results we have obtained for clients. Past results do not guarantee future outcomes.
Successfully represented a client in a breach of contract action involving nearly $100,000.00 in claimed damages. The case was resolved through summary judgment, resulting in a favorable judgment for our client. We then took the additional steps necessary to collect on the judgment, ensuring our client was fully paid.
Represented the fiduciary of an estate valued at approximately $500,000 in liquid assets, plus nearly $1 million in real estate. A beneficiary filed an extensive 124-page complaint alleging multiple forms of wrongdoing. Through targeted motion practice, the court dismissed the entire complaint pursuant to Rules 12(b)(1) and 12(b)(6) of the North Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure.
Represented a beneficiary in an estate matter where the decedent’s real property was subject to a questionable Medicaid estate recovery claim that threatened to consume nearly the entire value of the property. Through strategic negotiation and advocacy, we resolved the Medicaid claim and secured more than $50,000 for our client—funds the client otherwise would not have received.
Successfully prosecuted a breach of contract action resulting in a judgment exceeding $75,000.00, along with attorney’s fees and interest, maximizing the overall recovery for our client.
Successfully defended a breach of contract claim arising out of alleged defects and issues related to a custom home construction contract. The matter was resolved on statute of limitations grounds, resulting in dismissal of the claims against our client.
Successfully prosecuted and defended dozens of North Carolina Petitions to Partition, achieving favorable outcomes for clients involving the division or sale of jointly owned real property.
